Upcoming Trainings for school gardeners

1. Join SFC’s Grow Local team in this specialized gardening class all about seed-saving basics on Wednesday, January 22 from 6-8pm. Add another layer of sustainability at your school, home or community garden by preserving plant diversity, developing seed stock that is resilient and better adapted to our particular climate, and sharing your seed bounty with the Austin community!

2. SFC’s next FREE School Garden Leadership Training will be on Saturday, March 1 from 9am-1pm at Houston Elementary. Topics covered include: organizing your garden team, planning and implementing your project, incorporating the garden into a curriculum, and fundraising. We won't cover basic gardening principles but can point you to a variety of resources. This workshop is for teachers, parents, and any community members looking to volunteer with school gardens.
