10/27/2012 10AM-1PM: Get "Plugged In" to Community Resources

Austin Energy will host a free, family-friendly event to help people get "Plugged In" to valuable resources and social services. Make plans to attend Austin Energy's 2nd annual Community Connections event on Saturday, October 27th from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Metz Recreation Center, 2407 Canterbury Street. Over 50 vendors including multiple City of Austin departments, county and state agencies, and non-profit groups that provide services to low-income families will be on hand to let families know about the resources available in our community. Austin Energy will offer automatic enrollment for its Utility Bill Discount Program to qualifying customers. Additionally, staff will provide brief presentations to educate residents on the new electric rates and the redesign of the Customer Assistance Program.
