What Is The Eco-Product Design Contest?
The Eco-Product Design Contest embodies TerraCycle’s slogan, “Outsmarting Waste,” as it provides a fun, creative way to incorporate environmental education with a focus on the concept of reusing waste that we would normally throw out. Participants will design upcycled products using Elmer’s packaging and/or used classroom materials. To enter the contest, students should email photos and a description of their completed product to contest@terracycle.com by March 31st, 2012. The contest kicks off March 1st and the Grand Prize winner will be announced on April 23rd.

Who Can Participate?
The Eco-Product Design Contest is open to all students in kindergarten through 8th grade. You do not need to be a member of the Elmer’s Glue Crew Brigade®. To enter the contest, students should email photos and a description of their completed product to TerraCycle between March 1st, 2012 and March 31st, 2012.
How Does A Location Win The Eco-Product Design Contest?
Entries will be judged on their creative use of waste materials, the commercial viability of the design, and whether or not the design and materials used are environmentally friendly. After the entry phase is closed on March 31st, 2012 TerraCycle and Elmer’s will choose four finalists and announce them on April 9th. During a two-week public voting phase, April 9th - 20th, 2012, the public will choose a Grand Prize winner from the four finalists. The winner will be announced on April 23rd, 2012.
What Are The Prizes?
The Grand Prize winner will receive a TerraCycle and Elmer’s Prize Pack, be featured on the TerraCycle website and Facebook page. In addition, TerraCycle will issue a press release on the winner. The three runners-up will receive TerraCycle and Elmer’s prize packs.
